On August 8th, 1997, Hewlett-Packard released an Xserver patch which is incompatible with the Parallax Graphics server extensions. This patch
"PHSS_11398 s700_800 10.20 Xserver cumulative patch"
was required for users of the VISUALIZE_FX graphics card. If this patch is loaded onto the system, all the Parallax applications will either hang, or return stating "Could find xv adaptor".
H-P has released new Xserver patches. Please look for any patch which supercedes the mentioned patch.
